WILDFIRE OUTBREAK UK: LAST CAMP
Last Camp was filmed during August 2025 but is set in August 2010, depicting the final days of society during the Wildfire virus outbreak.
The film was shot as a standalone micro-short, expanding the world of Wildfire Outbreak UK rather than serving as a direct sequel.
The abandoned campsite location was chosen because it perfectly captured the atmosphere of a place deserted in haste, with everyday belongings left behind.
The entire film tells its story with very no dialogue, relying instead on visual storytelling and atmosphere.
The two walkers do not appear until the closing moments of the film, deliberately delaying the horror reveal to build suspense.
Karl-James Langford not only stars in the film but also edited the finished production.
Jacob Halliwell served as both director and cinematographer, giving the film a consistent visual style.
The film was designed to resemble a brief “slice of survival” rather than a conventional zombie film, focusing on isolation and uncertainty.
Despite its running time of just 5 minutes 44 seconds, the filmmakers aimed to tell a complete story with a beginning, middle and end.
Last Camp forms part of the wider Wildfire Outbreak UK universe, exploring events taking place during the collapse of Britain in August 2010.
The film was completed using footage originally shot for another project before being re-edited into its own standalone story.
