A union company has been tasked to head into the southern territory. Among the soldiers is a man named Dwight McCree. A man who has gotten the nickname “The Butcher” because of his incredible hate for the confederate soldiers, and will kill any man wearing a grey uniform he can get his hands on.

This has made him a special target for the confederate soldiers who want him dead.

On one night after the company set camp, they are ambushed by confederate soldiers. The union soldiers scatter and the battle go on the whole night. By dawn, barely anyone is left standing on either side. Except one or two soldiers here and there. Among those survivors is Dwight. And this is where this story takes off.
